VACUUM DISTILATION AND BITUMEN PRODUCTION UNIT

The vacuum distillation and bitumen production unit (DV-BITUMEN) was commissioned in 2002 and operated until 2003. Unit’s processing capacity was of 100.000 to/year raw material and up till 32.760 to/year road bitumen was obtained, as a result of processing the fuel oil obtained in the atmospherical distillation unit (DA).
During the period 2002 – 2003 the unit operated only as straight run fuel oil vacuum distillation. The vacuum residue oxidation and bitumen production parts did not operate.
The fuel oil heated in a furnace was distilled in a vacuum column with the help of ejectors and condensators arranged in three stages. The products obtained after distillation are light VGO, heavy VGO and vacuum residue. Vacuum residue underwent oxidation in an oxidation column in the presence of the air supplied by a compressor, and thus road bitumen was obtained.
In the years 2006 and 2012 the unit underwent overhaul, when all equipments, internal equipments were checked, the thickness was also measured and finding reports were issued for the units’ equipments.
