Baker Perkins band dryer for drying up to 300 kg/hr of puffed snacks, cereals, animal feed, petfood or fishfood type applications. The dryer chamber is nominally 6 m long x 1 m wide and has side guides - bed depth can be up to around 100 mm. The conveyor band is a woven wire mesh so small diameter products (>3 mm diameter) can be dried without problem. The gas-fired burner is mounted on the top of the machine with a heat exchanger - a recirculating fan draws air over the heat exchanger and blows it down via a full length plenum through the product and the band. The air is then drawn up a duct at the side of the dryer chamber and back to the heat exchanger. Moist air is extracted via a damper. Temperature is automatically controlled to the desired set-point and the unit is typically run at about 120 - 150 degrees Celsius. Band speed is fully adjustable to control bed depth and drying time. This machine has been refurbished so is good to go for another 20 years.
