Brother are a Japanese multinational company, based in Nagoya, who manufacture electrical and electronic equipment for a range of uses and industries.
Formed in 1908 as Yasui Sewing Machine company Brother are still world leaders in sewing machine production, innovation and solutions. Brother also make printers, faxes, typewriters, computer hardware, communication hardware and large machine tools. In 1925 Yasui became Yasui brothers sewing machine Company and when in 1962, four years after launching a plant in the USA, renamed the company Brother.
With plants and manufacturing facilities throughout the world, Brother now employ over 3,2000 staff.
Brother manufacture a series of tool machine tapping centre products in its TC CNC tapping Centre range. There are 30 options, including table traverse or vertical machining centres, column or horizontal machining centres and various tapping and drilling options. The latest TC range has AC servomotor drive reduced tool change time and machines have varied spindle speeds, output and 3 or an optional 5 axis.
The CNC tapping centre was awarded the Good design Award in 2004 in the Tool Making Association annual awards.
All Brother Machines come with a full range of warranties, parts, installation consultancy and local dealer contact. A refurbishment scheme and upgrade policy allows companies to benefit from new Brother technology without needing to upgrade machinery. Brother CNC tapping Centres are used extensively in tool making, especially brake pads and wheels in the automotive industry, and construction and metalwork applications. Much of the Brother CNC range is built in the USA at its Bridgewater, New Jersey headquarters.
