Headquartered in New Bremen, Ohio, USA Crown’s products are used in the world-wide logistics, warehousing, distribution and shop floor industries. With offices in Munich, Germany and Sydney, Australia, Crown maintains a dealer network in every continent and manufacturing plants in Europe, USA and Asia. The company currently employs over 10,000 staff worldwide.
A family firm, Crown was founded in 1930 to build temperature controls for coal burning furnaces. Initially the company focused on these products until diversification in the late 1950’s led them to begin manufacturing television antenna rotators and in the late 1960’s acquired Steinbock, a manufacturer of pallet trucks. By the 1970’s Crown had focused much of its manufacturing resource into forklifts and warehouse equipment and the Crown side-stance design revolutionised the industry. Today this design still retains popular acceptance, being awarded a Design of the Decade award from International Design Society of America in 2012.
Crown is heavily focused on sustainability and their ecologic approach is based on the principles of minimizing waste, managing energy and maximizing lifespan in all equipment.
