Founded in 1998 by Rajiv Bhatia, Quintum Technologies is a manufacturer of VOIP equipment and networked solutions in the telecommunications industry. In October 2007 Quintum was acquired by Network Equipment Technologies, Inc., and is headquartered in Eatontown, New Jersey.
In June 2012 Network Equipment Technologies were themselves been taken over by Sonus, a US-based company and world leader in SIP trunking and networking.
Quintum manufactures Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches and Gateways which support analogue and digital communication environments and this technology is used worldwide in applications including IP telephony migration, legacy VoIP enablement, multi-office VoIP, survivable branch office, Hosted IP PBX, SIP trunking, and VoIP calling card and termination. Since 2006, when Quintum linked with Microsoft to launch the Tenor Hybrid Gateway, Tenors are now being used with unified communications applications in enterprise and service provider networks.
In 2007 the Hybrid Gateway was awarded the Unified Communications Product of the Year.
Quintum has 1,500 employees in their plant in Eatontown and continue to distribute VOIP equipment worldwide. Their products are used in the smallest office to the largest financial services corporation. Though renowned for their Tenor range, which is still distributed by NET/Sonus, Quintum has also produced call relay technology and trunk gateways for over 15 years.
Quintum has been retained as a brand by Sonus since their takeover was completed in October 2013.
