Since 2010 Sanyo have been part of the Japanese multinational company Panasonic. The company dates back to the early 20th century and began as a manufacturer of consumer products including radios and washing machines among others. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, sanyo equipment ranges were expanded to cover markets such as the medical and electronics manufacturing industry.
The Sanyo medical equipment range includes lab incubators, autoclaves, medical refrigerators and much more.
In the mid 2000’s the company launched the Sanyo Evolution Project, with a new corporate vision to make the company into an environmentally friendly company. This involved investment in new products lines such as rechargeable batteries, solar photovoltaics, air conditioning, hybrid car batteries and more.
Today the Sanyo brand is associated with a range of products including solar cells and plants, including the Sanyo HIT (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin layer) solar cell used in many electronics and semiconductors operations.
