Stahl - Perfect Binder
Though Stahl invented the folding machine in the early 1950’s and is regarded as the pivotal company in the early days of printing press and post press functionality Stahl also created many products in their perfect binder range. Acquired by Heidelberg in 1999, Stahl perfect binders are still manufactured and used globally by publishers, academic and engineering industries under the Heidelberg Stahl brand.
Stahl perfect binders revolutionised the industry. Able to provide single clamp technology and results on both soft and hard back covers, the BL 200 was a highly modularised machine that was used as a post press option across the world.
Heidelberg Stahl still offer a range of post press perfect binders, including the Eurobind 1200 with Eurotrim 1000. This machine, launched in 2006 has a three knife trimmer, with four pneumatic clamps, integrated adjustable jogging station and touch-screen display. The machine also has a continuous vertical cover feeder. Heidelberg Stahl also provides proprietary software with new machines. This is the Prinect Print Shop Workflow Management System. This integrates the post press process by the integration of finishing machines, data capture and central management for precise post-production job costing and maximum availability of current job information and production data. This quickens job times, reduces operator involvement and increases work accuracy.
Stahl legacy units are managed by Heidelberg and full spare parts, warranties and after sales support are all provided.
