This machine is designed to be used directly after the Ampoule filling and sealing process to colour ring code at speeds of up to 24,000 per hour. The machine can accommodate up to 4 plug in colour ring units giving a possibility of up to 6 colours for electronic code reading. This results in a possible 1,296 different electronically readable ring combinations.
When fitted with the appropriate format parts, the machine has the following technical specifications:
Ampoule Dia. min. 9.0 mm
Ampoule Dia. max. 23.0 mm
Ampoule Height min. 45.0 mm
Ampoule Height max. 130.0 mm
Output Speed max. 400/minute
This machine is offered complete with 3 plug-in colour ring units 5 sets of format parts
suitable for 1ml, 2ml, 5ml, 10ml and 20 ml Ampoules (all according to DIN/ISO 9187-1).
The machine comprises of a Stainless Steel clad cabinet, which houses the drive unit and gear train and supports the various operating stations. It is a continuously working machine which has rotating turrets and star-wheels in which Ampoules are indexed through the various marking and drying stations. Ampoules from trays or similar containers are placed onto an inclined infeed chute. Weighted roller plates are placed behind the Ampoules which hold them upright and push them down against a worm-screw. The worm-screw feeds the Ampoules into a rotating turret, where they are held between Stainless Steel ‘Roller Bearings’. These allow the Ampoules to rotate freely
and – where rotation is required – rubber wheels set the Ampoules in rotation.
The turret indexes the Ampoules through the colour marking stations where different colours or colour combinations are applied to the Ampoule necks via a narrow ink marking disc and a roll-off process while the Ampoules rotate.
Once the Ampoules have passed through all the marking stations they transfer into a synchronised driven star-wheel which indexes them through the drying station. The drying station comprises an infra-red radiation lamp assembly which quick dries the colour rings as they pass through without the product inside the Ampoule being noticeably heated. The drying lamp assembly is height-adjustable via motor drives to allow optimal setting for different Ampoule heights.
After drying, the Ampoules transfer into an outfeed starwheel which indexes them out of the operating area on to a chute where they can be collected in trays or similar
containers (not included).
The operating area of the machine is enclosed within safety interlocked glass doors allowing easy access for cleaning, ink change and size change.
Operator controls are located in a 15” SVGA colour, touch-screen operator panel which is mounted at eyelevel in the main electrical cabinet. All machine functions are controlled from the Windows based operator panel including the set-up of new marking
‘recipes’ which can be stored and recalled as required. The main electrical installation is housed in a doubledoor control cabinet and includes a Siemens S7-300 PLC unit.
