TYPE OF PLANT: Venturi Tower Scrubber

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION: Pollutants contained in the air sucked in by the Ecochimica SCRUBBER are absorbed by chemical reaction through washing with appropriate scrubbing reagent. The standard scrubbers produced by Ecochimica are dual-stage to ensure higher treatment efficiency and guarantee emissions to standards.

I Stage (Venturi):The polluted air is sucked from the scrubber through the venturi, where, due to the strong turbulence created in the throat by the high velocity, it comes intimately in contact with the scrubbing solution, realizing excellent pre-abatement.

II Stage (tower): The polluted air passes from the venturi to the scrubber tower through the reagent recirculation tank. In the tower, the air is further washed countercurrently, at low speed, over a large contact surface. Appropriate demisters, droplet separating honeycomb packs, are inserted in the tower to eliminate entrainment effects. Air is conveyed through the scrubber, via a standard fan, and once purified is emitted to the atmosphere.
