Description

This Fisher Scientific Labconco 3' Vertical Clean Bench is used and in excellent condition. The prefilter (P/N 3718001) is missing. It can be ordered from Fisher Scientific for about $40. This unit is also missing the lower stand.

Ventilated benchtop enclosure provides controlled environment for PCR experiments and applications requiring particulate-free work area, such as electronic and medical device assembly, tissue culture and media preparation.

Integral blower(s) and 99.99% efficient HEPA filter continuously supply particle-free ISO 5 (Class 100) air through work area, minimizing risk of cross-contamination of samples. Air is then returned to room through front and rear of the enclosure. Note: Purifier PCR Enclosures and Vertical Clean Benches do not provide user protection. Bio-hazardous materials, toxins and radionuclides should be handled in Class I or Class II biological safety cabinets. See Purifier Class I Safety Enclosures and Delta Series Cabinets.

Ergonomic design: Clear safety-glass 3/16 in. (4.8mm) thick side panels and 1/4 in. (6.4mm) sash allow maximum natural lighting for optimal viewing. Angled sash reduces glare and pivots from 17°, 9 in. (23cm) operating position to 183/4 in. (48cm) opening for loading and maintenance. Glass surfaces resist crazing and discoloration. Glare-free fluorescent lamp is mounted outside contamination area. Blower and light switches are placed outside above the sash within easy reach.

PCR Enclosure includes 15w, 254nm germicidal UV lamp with solid state timer to provide 5-minute exposure to deactivate DNA and RNA contaminants. Optional UV lamp without timer is available on Vertical Clean Bench for use with surface disinfection to ensure thorough decontamination when bench is unattended.

Maximum air purity. HEPA filter traps 99.99% of 0.3µm particles. Dual-light sensor monitors differential pressure across filter and indicates filter condition (green for normal; amber for service). Replaceable pre-filter traps larger particles to extend life of the HEPA filter. Quiet variable-speed, solid-state internal blower maintains proper air velocity (3 ft. models have two blowers). Rear exhaust grill helps provide even air flow and minimizes air turbulence in the work area. For operator safety, UV lamp cannot be turned on when fluorescent lamp is in use.

Epoxy-coated steel upper cabinet and back panel are smooth, corrosion resistant and easy to clean. Back panel has two utility ports for service connections. Open cabinet bottom enables unit to fit securely on existing cabinetry. Optional dished epoxy work surface and telescoping base stands are available; see Accessories.
