Description
The AG-HPX600 Second hand combines high performance, ease of use, expandable functions and a design prepared for future upgrades, with the aim of covering a wide range of uses, from imaging production to broadcast applications. Being a 2/3” shoulder-mounted camera, it fits a wide variety of interchangeable lenses. In addition, its compact body provides great mobility thanks to the lowest weight in the industry*[1]: the camera body weighs approximately 2.8Kg. Its newly developed MOS sensor achieves high sensitivity of F13 at 50Hz, and low noise thanks to its 59dB S/N ratio. It includes multiple HD/SD codecs, such as AVC-Intra100/50, DVCPROHD, DVCPRO50, DVCPRO, and DV. In addition to these basic features, a wide range of functions are optionally available, such as network connectivity or Variable Frame Rate (VFR). In this way, the camera can be adapted to numerous and diverse applications with the minimum cost. It is also compatible with the new P2HD technologies such as the AVC-ULTRA codec and the microP2*2 card.
The AG-HPX600 Second hand will be available from September 2012 with a recommended retail price (RRP) of 13,800 euros (VAT not included).
The AG-HPX600 Second Hand will be on display at the International Broadcasting Convention "IBC2012" to be held at the RAI Center in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from Friday, September 7 to Tuesday, September 11.*1: Inside the category 2/3” shoulder HD camcorders (as of August 2012). *2: Planned for a future release as paid updates.
AG-HPX600EJ Main Features
It is the lightest in its class (2/3” shoulder camcorder).
The AG-HPX600 Second Hand camcorder is the lightest in its class*, with the camera body weighing approximately 2.8Kg. The fact of having a compact body provides total mobility. It is also designed to offer excellent visibility. The 2/3” bayonet mount interchangeable lens system allows you to choose from a wide variety of 2/3” lenses from other manufacturers.
* Within the category 2/3” shoulder HD camcorders (as of August 2012).
New F13 high sensitivity MOS sensor (at 50Hz)
Its newly developed MOS sensor provides high sensitivity of F13@50Hz (
[email protected]), and low noise with an S/N ratio of 59dB (standard), higher than many 2/3CCD cameras. 3". Thanks to a high-speed sweep, the skew distortion, typical of the rolling shutter, is minimized. Using a high-quality image processor, the AG-HPX600EJ offers the following image settings.
– CAC (Chromatic Aberration Compensation): When using a CAC-compliant lens, the small amount of surrounding chromatic aberration that has not been corrected by the lens is compensated for by this process in the camera.
– DRS (Dynamic Range Extension): Avoids stuck shadows and blown highlights to achieve a visually wide dynamic range.
* DRS function does not work in 1080/25p, 1080/24p or 1080/30p mode
– Flash Band Compensation (FBC): detects the flash lights captured in each scene and compensates for possible flash bands due to rolling shutter.
– Gamma: Allows you to select between 7 different gamma curves (HD NORM / LOW / SD NORM / HIGH / B. PRESS / CINE-LIKE D / CINE-LIKE V).
– Digital Image Adjustments: H and V detail, Detail threshold, Skin tone detail, Chroma level, Chroma phase, Color temperature, Master Pedestal, Knee (LOW / MID / HIGH), Matrix (NORM1 / NORM2 / FLUO / CINEMA-LIKE).
HD/SD multi-format and recording with various codecs
The AG-HPX600 Second Hand supports multiple HD/SD codecs including the AVC-Intra 100Mbps format, which records 1920×1080 signals upsampled at 4:2:2 and 10-bit. It is switchable between 50 and 60Hz* so it can be used all over the world. When an optional HD/SD-SDI input board (AG-YA600G) is installed, it can also be used as a portable recorder.
AVC-Intra100/50 50Hz: 1080/50i, 25p, 25pN; 720/50p, 25p, 25pN
60Hz: 1080/60i, 24pN, 30pN; 720/60p, 24pN, 30pN*
DVCPRO HD 50Hz: 1080/50i, 25p, 25pN; 720/50p, 25p, 25pN
60Hz: 1080/60i, 24p, 24pA, 30p; 720/60p, 24p, 30p*
DVCPRO50/ DVCPRO/DV 50Hz: 576/50i, 25p
60Hz: 480/60i, 30p, 24p, 24pA*
*24p=23.98p, 30p=29.97p and 60i=59.94i
Expandability and upgradeability
The AG-HPX600 Second hand has a wide variety of options that the camera operator can incorporate if needed. This makes it possible to cover numerous and diverse applications at a very low cost.
–Supports High Resolution Proxy Video (with optional AG-YDX600G video encoder board): With this option, the AG-HPX600EJ records proxy files on card SD/SDHC memory cards and/or P2 cards*. It supports high quality video (QuickTime/H.264) and audio formats at a very low bit rate. High-quality proxy files can be used for breaking news, or in other scenarios that require faster workflow. Video Proxy streamlines the production workflow by allowing the editor to review content details during offline editing. The AG-YDX600G board will be available in September 2012 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of €1,550 (VAT not included).
* Proxy data cannot be recorded when using the loop or interval recording function. Proxy data consists of low-resolution video, audio, timecode, metadata, and other management data, in file format. DCF technologies are used under license from Multi-Format Inc.
–Wireless or wired network streaming (with AG-SFU601G software update and AJ-WM30E wireless module): These options allow the use of a wireless or wired LAN (Ethernet), so that proxy files* they can be streamed and viewed in a standard web browser on a PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. While viewing transmitted files, metadata can be added to P2 clips. Using a PC or Mac also enables a cloud workflow, uploading and sharing video data over the network. The AG-SFU601G will be available from September 2012 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of €1,400 (VAT not included).
* AG-YDX600G encoder board (optional) is required for proxy video.
–Variable Frame Rate and 24PsF output (with AG-SFU602G software upgrade pack, optional): In 720p mode, the frame rate can be set in the range of 1 to 60fps, while in 1080p mode It can be adjusted between 1 and 30fps. This allows you to create slow motion and fast motion effects in an agile and versatile way. For cinematic applications, 24p and 25p speed can be selected, either native or over 60p or 50p respectively. Additionally, the camera offers 24PsF format output via SDI, enabling uncompressed external recording possible. The AG-SFU602G will be available in September 2012 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of €930 (VAT not included).
AVC-ULTRA upgrade and microP2 card support are also planned as upgrade options in the future.
